UPDATE: Mexican officials have confirmed the disappearance of a private jet carrying regional Mexican music superstar Jenni Rivera that took off from the northern Mexican city of Monterrey at 3:15 a.m. local time on Sunday and fell off the radar 10 minutes (or 62 miles) after take-off.Multiple reports, including one from Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, Mexico's Secretary of Communications and Transports, claim that the remains of the private jet carrying Jenni Rivera have been found, with no survivors. Tejano Memorial to honor Tejano Heroes

Tejano Memorial to honor Tejano Heroes at San Fernando Cemetery #1 (San Antonio, Texas) September 20, 2011 - Texas Tejano.com, a San Antonio-based research, publishing, and communications firm, and Alamo Legacy & Missions Association (A.L.M.A), will hold a memorial ceremony beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, Sept. 24th at the historic San Fernando Cemetery #1 (1100 S. Colorado). In 1936, during the state's centennial celebration, the state placed several Historical headstones at these hollowed grounds commemorating the contributions, sacrifices and roles Tejanos played in the revolution. The event is being held in honor of the Tejano participants of the Texas Revolution who are interred at this cemetery. The event will begin with a walking tour of the venerated grounds of one of the oldest cemeteries in San Antonio; San Fernando #1. Followed by brief remarks by President and Founder of TexasTejano.com Rudi R. Rodriguez. The ceremony is an official Tejano Heritage Month event and is free and open to the public. Telemundo has signed a new multi-year deal with Billboard to present the annual Billboard Latin Music Awards and to expand the companies' alliances into different musical areas. Aside from the successful Billboard Latin Music Awards, the agreement will now include the new Premios Billboard de la Música Regional Mexicana (Billboard Regional Mexican Music Awards), dedicated to the top-selling genre of Latin music in the U.S. This will mark the first time a major U.S. network produces an award show devoted exclusively to regional Mexican music.In addition, Telemundo Digital will expand its entertainment web and mobile programming in partnership with Billboard, growing and enhancing the offerings of BillboardEnEspañol.com and beyond. Content will be targeted to 18-34 bilinguals and will include novela soundtracks and music videos, video streaming, live streams of concerts, articles, exclusive artist interviews, blogs and photo galleries as well as music downloads, weekly top 10 charts and a search engine for concert tickets. Special thanks to Jorge Ramos for letting me reprint this. Growing Up in the Music Industry..I was always ready to hear new bands and Artist..Always wanted to hear what they brought to Tejano Music..Listening to the top Bands or someone just starting out..If its Tejano ?..I wanted to hear them..Some bands and Artist moved up quickly..some struggled..it could have been because of who they knew ?.or how much money backing they had..But never did I knock em down for it or be little them..Maybe they had the right sound,or the right energie !..Maybe they had the One song that pushed them..I was Happy for them..even though My Career wasn't going anywhere ..I Didn't hate how and why they were doing so good and not Myself or our band...I was Playing in Galesburg ,IL also booked on that nite was a band that kept saying they were the best in Illinois !..I said Wow ! this is going to be cool..We set up on one stage..they set up on another stage..and when they saw Our Equipment and My Drums..they came over and asked if they could Use our Equipment too..Hey We were Honored !.and gladly said Yes !!.Well they started off the Music..People were already complaining about the bad singing..and off key paying..but we had them sounding as good as We could get them..but it was just not in Our Hands anymore..But Yet I wanted to see what I could take form them..listen,learn..maybe one thing i can use to add into my head that I can add to Our Music..and I did..Then We took the Stage..and started out with our 6 back to back opening songs..the crowd was all around the stage..including the other band..They couldn' keep away from the stage watching Us,with these faces that You could see Wow all across it..People and were dancing ..whooping it up,and applauding Us..including the band..then we came to a song where i had to do a drum solo..I was doing a 10 minute solo..the drummer of the other band was in front watching..then I noticed he was on the side of the stage..then next to Me...He lloked like He wanted to get in on the action..so,,I kept some beat going..and getting off the thrown and let him slide in...Well ..He did what some one could call a drum solo..but I stayed right by Him and kept incouraging Him..He was having fun ..and thats all that mattered to Me...Then I got back on..and finished..glad it was break time...People were chearing..it was Great...The Drummer told Me..Thank You..I'am not that good..but Thank You for letting Me in..I now a Great Friend..His Wife came over an apologized for Him getting Up there and so did His BAND..I SAID" no need to Apologize" this is Music and should be fun...I went to learn from them..He ended Up learning from Me and the band altogether..There were top Tejano Bands that I went to see..that wouldn't give Me the time of Day..that was ok..I still looked & Listened..and Learned...Never did I knock'em for not talking to Me..Never did I say anything but good things about their Music..some People have it some don't..Sometimes that break never comes..it's life..I have lots of Friends out there in Tejano especially lots of Cousins...am I dissapointed that they haven't asked Me to drum for them ?..no..would I love too ?..Yes..But I will have My Time..and as I look back..I have opened Up for top Names..I have had chances to join these top names..but it wasn't meant to be..in reality I have had My Times..I f I see A Young Artist Just starting out and Making it..I will Push him ! I will do My Best to give Him or Her The Best advice I can..He or She is representing "Tejano" !!...Maybe this is My Contribution to "Tejano"..Matbe I will start to record My own CD soon..I will have people talking about Me.. good & Bad..but all in all.."I Love Tejano"..and will always..always support Mi Artist..Young & Old !!....Jorgie..sorry I am not a writer..Jorge Ramos
